Clearing the documents folder in Windows 98 |
This tutorial will guide you through how to remove the documents from the documents folder on the start menu, doing this will NOT delete the files from your computer it will only remove them from the documents folder on the start menu.

In the first screenshot below you can see the documents folder that we are going to clear, this can get very full of virtually all the files you have recently viewed or edited, for this reason it is sometimes necessary to clear the folder out.
Please note: Clearing this documents folder will NOT delete the files from your PC
Below in fig 1.1 you can see the documents folder on the start menu in Windows 98 (r), this will get full of files that you have recently viewed or edited.
To clear this folder, first click on the START button and then hover the mouse over SETTINGS and then click on Taskbar & Start Menu.

Now you will see the taskbar properties dialogue box, click on the Start Menu Programs tab at the top (see below).
Next click on the CLEAR button and then simply click the OK button.
