Changing Start menu to classic view in Windows XP |
This guide will take you through how to change the look of the start menu in Windows XP®.

Before you follow this tutorial you must read the terms of our disclaimer.
If you are used to Windows 95/98/ME then when you first install Windows XP the start menu may look strange.
Thankfully you can change this back to the "classic view" very easily, follow the guide below to change your start menu to something more familiar ;o)
First right-click on the START button, then click on Properties from the menu that appears.
Now you will see a box appear similar to that shown in fig 1.1, click on the Start Menu tab (as shown below)
Now simply select the Classic Start Menu option as shown on the left and then click OK
Now the start menu will look more familiar to those users of previous versions of windows.
