Get a couple of faint clicks

1. You posted this earlier ...can you confirm that your hard Drive is not connected to the motherboard for the last lot of tests please.

2. Have you disconnected the molex connections from the Hard Drive / CDROM drive ?
Molex (power)Connection

Not necessarily.
Although the fan spins it could still be a problem with the Power Supply.
or
Dust.

3. Is there a buildup of dust under the M/B? If there is ...blow this away but don't be tempted to use a vacuum. ( Static could cause further problems )

4. Also try unscrewing the M/B from the case and sit it on folded newspaper ( to insulate it ) switch on. Any beeps now?

5. Which M/B do you have - it should be written in big letters somewhere obvious / or which pc ( exact model please )

Please supply 5 answers - speeds things up Smile

It's probably a loose connection to the hard drive or the other end, the motherboard.

Check that the cable is pushed fully home into the rear of the hard drive. Follow the cable to the motherboard and push that fully home.

Also check the power connector.
