I have just had a new motherboard installed and my mic dont work the ear phone does and i just cant figure it out, i have tested the hardware and it tells me its ok, but still nothing, ive tried installing drivers but that has'nt worked.  |

Hi, and welcome to Help With PCs.
First I must ask who fitted the new motherboard, if done by a shop or other repair specialist and considering the sound system will likely be on the new board, it will be covered by a warranty, both for the board, and the work of whoever installed it, therefore if you have checked all software plus drivers and it still doesn't work. Take it back.
However just one thing to check is in the sound management controls, check the microphone volume control slide is up near the top, and also that there isn't a tick in the "Mute" box.
Also have you checked the microphone works by connecting it to something else?
