This is really for anyone connected to Malwarebytes, I have received a report from a friend who is running Vista. He has had to uninstall Malwarebytes due to system crashes which appeared to be caused by Malwarebytes. Any one else heard of any problems with MBAM and Vista? I have sent him mail to ask him to report his problem.

MBAM installed on Vista sp1, no problems here ( there were some bugs in the past that were fixed, no reports about the Vista crashing).
Did your friend installed the lastest version 1.25 and update the defs Could be another program interferring with mbam, ZoneAlarm comes to mind, if installed then disable ZA and see if MBAM works now.
Have your friend post their problem here

Fooled around for a few hours trying to find and remove some malware causing popup ads. Malaware took care of the issue. nice!

if that doesn't work, try spybot, and make sure you have a firewall installed, or upgrade your PC to windows 7, which comes with a free fireall called Microsoft security essentials Smile
good luck and happy new year

I have seen some malicious software that prevents Malwarebytes from loading and other that will kill Malwarebytes a few moments after you begin a scan.

It might be worth posting in the securities section for someone to take you through a spyware procedure.

EDIT: DOH! just noticed the original post date. Shocked

Yes it was a while since, and didn't get a reply from my friend. I assume he found another way round or perhaps it was ZoneAlarm.
