The actual key sequences, or key combinations, will vary depending on the software package. Most, if not all, quality software has at least some keyboard shortcuts built-in.

An example of a keyboard shortcut would be the CTRL and S combination found in Microsoft Office applications. In this instance, holding down the CTRL key and pressing S will save the file being worked on.

Another example is CTRL and P, which will print the current document.

In our tips and tricks section you will find a list of keyboard shortcuts for some popular software packages.
